REMINDER THAT LAIKA’S FIRST FILM SOLELY PRODUCED BY THEIR STUDIO HAD TWO FEMALE CHARACTERS AS THEIR ANTAGONIST AND PROTAGONIST WHO, BY SOME FORM OF DEVIL MAGIC, HAVE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FACES
REMINDER THAT LAIKA’S SECOND FILM NOT ONLY CONSISTED OF A CAST WITH FOUR CENTRAL FEMALE CHARACTERS BUT INCLUDED AN ENTIRE TOWN OF DIVERSE CITIZENS OF VARYING RACE, GENDER, AND AGE. LIKE A NORMAL TOWN HAS.
REMINDER THAT LAIKA’S THIRD FILM FEATURED SAME SEX COUPLES IN THEIR TEASER TRAILER
REMINDER THAT THIS IS ALL STOP-MOTION SO EVERY CHARACTER WAS DESIGNED, MODELED, SCULPTED, RIGGED, AND EVEN HAD TINY CLOTHES SEWED FOR THEM.
also reminder that they make chump change compared to disney who whines and cries that in all their years of experience they can’t handle the prospect of animating a girl with a face different than the rest and that it’s “too hard” because only females can express such a wide range of emotions that it makes them difficult to animate
if a studio with 20-30 years of experience can manage this then SURELY an established studio with NEAR 100 YEARS of experience can maybe, just maybe, include a female that ISN’T a part of their formula
LAIKA !
Also paranormal had a canonically gay guy in it just saying
I love Laika and they’ve been great at creating beautiful movies with diverse casts but Disney does have a long history of making movies about women and even women of different enthnicities like Mulan, Pocahontas, Jasmine and Tatiana from Princess and the Frog. They are doing better now than ever with Vanellope and Sergent Calhoun, who were totally different in Wreck it Ralph, Big Hero 6 which featured Asian, black and hispanic characters (dispite the whitewashing of the source material) and now Moana which feaures a Polynesian woman of colour. That one animator’s comments from a few years ago were kind of lame but if you look at the big picture, they’re actually doing really well in my opinion.

television history
i’ve been trying to explain this sketch to people for years
there is literally no way to explain this sketch it’s just a thing you have to see and even then I’m not sure why it’s so funny
theres a very simple explanation actually
its a parody of this scene from the OC
Now You Know

What people don't expect from INFPs
• INFPs can be downright cruel, despite their strong morals and care for others. Because they can people read so well, they are able to find people’s biggest sore spots easily and won’t hesitate to attack them with their words.
•INFPs are EXTREMELY protective. Not just in a motherly, “oh I love them” way. They will choose someone and then protect them with everything they have until their last breath.
•Although INFPs are much less sexual than some other types like ISFPs or ISTPs, for example, they are often seen as the “kinkiest” type.
•INFPs are one of the types most likely to be depressed along with ENFPs, INTPs, INFJs and ISFPs, but they are much less likely to commit suicide than both of those types.
•INFPs are also the least hedonistic of the types who are most likely to be depressed
•INFP/ENTJ friendships are actually some of the most successful, surprisingly
•INFPs are often liars. Nearly every INFP lies more than they’d like to admit. It comes from their deep imagination and their acting skills
•Isabella Briggs-Myer has actually stated that INFPs make good scientists, along with INTPs and INTJs. Her father was a scientist and an INFP.
•Isabella Briggs-Myer was an INFP, herself.

I really try to challenge Canadian stereotypes at every opportunity but today I was walking down Young St. in Toronto and a firetruck honked very loudly and I clutched my chest and said “MY WORD” and as it drove past, a fireman leaned out of the window and apologized to me
so I just don’t know

without further ado, here’s the very first page to what i hope will be a long-lived comic project; Falling. you may have heard me mention it here or there, haha.
Jake ( @misterr-grim ) is doing the writing, and i’m drawing; we’re still working on getting a buffer going, then hopefully a website or at least hosting the pages up at tapastic or something!
in the meantime, i’ll be uploading 4 coloured teaser pages this week, starting with this one, and once theyr’e all up, i’ll probably collect them all in one post.
i’ve been looking forward to this moment for a very, very long time, and i hope you guys enjoy the ride! if you have any questions, i’d love to answer them. <3
